Generally, the most relevant piece of hardware for Enscape is the graphics card – you can find a full list of our system requirements here. We can recommend a computer or laptop with a card from the NVIDIA RTX 30 Series or up to the RTX 40 Series, depending on your budget - from our experience, these provide the best price / performance ratio.
An important topic to consider if you are upgrading your GPU is VRAM – Enscape’s system requirements call for a GPU with a minimum of 4GB of VRAM. If you are planning on using Enscape with large or complex projects, or with virtual reality, and want to render images in high resolution, we would highly recommend purchasing a graphics card with more than 4GB of VRAM. Under these circumstances, it would be advisable to consider a graphics card with at least 8 GB.
If your budget is more flexible, the professional NVIDIA GPU range usually offers more VRAM than the gaming equivalents. So the RTX A4000, RTX A5000, or RTX A6000 with 16GB could also be an interesting option, though these are of course substantially more expensive.
Regardless of which model graphics card you decide on, we generally recommend purchasing one with as much VRAM as you can afford.
