Differences between anima ALL/PRO and anima Render Node

The anima Render Node is a limited installation of the ALL/PRO versions. It provides access to the anima plugins and is designed to be installed in computers that are mainly used only to render images (also known as render nodes or render farms).

The difference between anima ALL/PRO and anima Render Node is that the ALL/PRO versions are more complete. The ALL/PRO versions are installed by selecting the Workstation installation mode, which includes the standalone application (anima Designer) to create and edit anima scenes, and all the supported plugins for the compatible DCC applications (3dsMax®, Maya®, and Cinema4D®, the node version is not compatible with Unreal Engine®).

On the other hand, when the Render Node installation mode is selected only the plugins and the core files of anima are installed, and it is not possible to edit or create scenes because it has no viewport or any other editing interface. However, this mode includes the necessary parts of anima to allow loading scenes with anima content into the DCC applications and use them to render scenes without the limitations of the anima LITE version.

The anima Render Node version must be installed using the same standard anima installer but selecting the Render Node option instead of the Workstation (which is the one selected by default).

You will find more information about the render nodes in the following documentation:

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

As of August 1, 2024, with the release of anima 5.6.0, anima Render Node installations no longer require a license and are free for everyone to use.

However, the older versions of anima (5.5.0 and older) still require the use of a Render Node license. More information about the legacy Render Node licensing process can be found in the following documentation:
