Anima serves Cinema 4D, Maya, and Unreal Engine besides 3ds Max.
Also, anima needs an animation system to work with, so that excludes CAD applications. We are looking at ways to bring part of anima to CAD apps, but nothing is yet planned.
Project Eclipse will be integrating anima directly (a first for anima) and so an Eclipse user will not need the anima application. That said, we are examining if the Eclipse user requires the entire anima library.
