We offer two types of Workstations:
- Fixed-seat - this is the Chaos V-Ray Solo Workstation and it is locked to a single computer. It is the perfect solution for users who work only on one machine.
- Floating - these are the Chaos V-Ray Premium and Chaos V-Ray Enterprise workstations. With floating licensing, you can work on different machines which ensures the flexibility to be creative anywhere at any time.
One Chaos Workstation consists of:
- One Universal Graphical User Interface (GUI) license
A GUI license allows you to use the graphical user interface of the product on one computer at a time. This includes navigating through the product menus in your host 3D platform, creating and manipulating objects, working with the material editor, etc.
As the GUI license is universal it will allow you to work on any of the host platforms V-Ray supports, including 3ds Max, Maya, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, Unreal, Nuke, Houdini, and Cinema 4D.
The license also lets you access Chaos ecosystem features available in the product depending on your subscription. Such features could include Chaos Cosmos, Chaos Scatter, etc.
- One Render Node license
A render node license allows you to render using the product locally or over the network (distributed rendering or frame-by-frame network rendering) on one computer at a time.
Note: rendering can be performed either on the same machine where the GUI license is used, or on another machine in the network.
If you need to use the product or render on more machines, you can purchase additional GUI and Render Node licenses.
