I have floating licenses. Do I need to invite users to my organization?

Floating licenses can be shared with users in two ways – through our cloud-based floating license setup, which requires users to have Chaos accounts, or a local network setup with a centralized license server, which does not require users to have accounts.

In our cloud-based floating license setup, the owner of the floating licenses is the administrator of the Chaos organization. The administrator can use the my.chaos portal and add users to their Chaos Organization and share the floating licenses with them. The users then install the product with all default installation options and log in with their Chaos account. This set up requires users to have Chaos accounts, but at the same time the floating license can be accessed from any location by the user.

In our setup with a centralized license server, one person (usually a company or IT administrator) installs one instance of the Chaos License Server on one central machine in a local network. The License Server is authenticated with the Chaos Account of the administrator, which owns the floating licenses. The users only need to configure their Chaos product to connect to the IP address of this License Server to use a floating license. This setup does not require users to have Chaos accounts, but they need to be within the same local network as the License Server.
