Corona has installed successfully, but I can't find it in C4D!

After the installation, the "Corona" item should appear in the main top menu of Cinema 4D:

If you have successfully installed Corona for Cinema 4D, and the installer did not display any error messages, but you cannot find Corona in Cinema 4D, make sure you have all required system components installed correctly (Windows users):


 

Troubleshooting for Windows users:

  • Corona for Cinema 4D can be installed manually using the "unpack" method found during the installation process. To learn more about the manual installation process, please visit:

    • Note for Cinema 4D R20 users:
      By default, Cinema 4D R20 does not have a plugins folder visible in the main directory, which requires some manual labor. 
        • Simply create a 'plugins' folder in the main directory of Cinema 4D R20 and rerun the Corona installer.
        • or
        • Extract the 'SDK' zip file that is located in the main Cinema 4D directory. Once extracted, double-click to enter the folder and move that 'plugins' folder back to Cinema's main directory. You can now proceed with the Corona installer again.
  •  
  • Close any open instance of Cinema 4D, disable any antivirus or firewall on your computer, and try downloading and installing Corona again.
    • Note: You'll need to whitelist any chaos.com domain in your firewall in case the downloaded Corona installer is corrupted/incomplete. 

  • Make sure your Cinema 4D app is installed at the default location path; otherwise, use the "Unpack" method described above.

  • Make sure your Cinema 4D version is supported. The supported Cinema 4D versions are indicated in the download section of our website for each Corona for Cinema 4D version.

If your problem is not solved even after installing all the system components, please contact us, and we will investigate the issue.

 


 

Troubleshooting for Mac users:

  • Corona for Cinema 4D can be installed manually using the provided instructions in the article: How to install Corona manually.
  • Make sure your Cinema 4D app is installed at the default location path; otherwise, use the "Customise" installation type described here and set the correct folder paths: Installation process for Corona for Cinema 4D (MacOS)
  • If you're using the latest macOS, please make sure you're installing the latest Corona version as well (not an old version).

  • If you're using an old macOS version, please make sure your OS version is supported. The latest official release only supports the last two macOS versions and the recent one.

  • You can try a clean install. First, remove old Corona installation files, then run the Corona installer again and use the default options.

  • Remove or disable any 3dr-party OS-optimizing software, then try running again the Corona installer.
  • Make sure your Cinema 4D version is supported. The supported Cinema 4D versions are indicated in the download section of our website for each Corona for Cinema 4D version.
