Getting started with Anima 6

Anima version 6 introduces a new licensing system that integrates with your Chaos Account. To begin using Anima 6, follow these steps:

Download Anima from the Chaos downloads page.
Install Anima by following the on-screen instructions, which will also install the Chaos license utility on your computer.
Launch Anima 6 and sign in with your Chaos Account when prompted.

License management for single and floating licenses

If you hold a single license:

If you use a floating license:

Your account owner must invite you to join their Organization. You can find instructions on how to do this here.
Once added to the Organization, sign in to Anima with the email address associated with your Chaos Account.

Accessing the Chaos License Server

To use Anima version 6 or later, you must connect to a Chaos License. The Chaos License Server is included with Anima and is also available for separate download. This server provides licensing without physical devices and is accessible via a web browser either locally or on a remote device.

Opening the Chaos License Server interface

Follow these steps to open the Chaos License Server interface on your machine:

Open your web browser and enter http://127.0.0.1:30304.
You can also navigate to the Manage Chaos License Server by going to Windows Start Menu > All Apps > Chaos > Manage Chaos License Server.

If the Chaos License Server is installed on another machine within your local network, open a browser and type the IP address of that machine followed by the port number 30304 (e.g., http://10.0.0.100:30304).

Managing Chaos licenses

To view and manage your Chaos licenses:

Click on the product for which you have a license.
Expand the menu to see detailed information about your licenses.

You can filter through Online licenses that are Available or In Use for the selected product by using the dedicated buttons at the top of the expandable menu. The licensing system allows you to access seats associated with your Chaos account from anywhere you log in over the Internet, and the filters will show the status as online.

Unified login application integration

The Unified Login Application (ULA) is integrated into the License Server installation, enabling Single Sign-On for all ULA-integrated Chaos desktop apps. Once you sign into any Chaos application, you will be automatically logged into all other Chaos applications on your device.

Choosing a license type during installation

When installing Anima 6, you will need to select a license type. The options are:

Local – If you hold a single license, use the default installation option, which installs a local License Server app on your device. Both installation and activation are necessary for this type.
Remote – Larger companies with many users on the same local network should consider installing a centralized License Server.

The Chaos License Server can also be downloaded separately if needed.

Floating license sharing for organizations

As an Administrator, you can share floating licenses with all Members or Guests in your Organization. Users added to the Organization can access shared licenses by installing the Chaos product with default settings and signing in with their Chaos Account.

How to share floating licenses

Log into my.chaos.com and navigate to the Organization tab on the toolbar.
Click the three-dot menu next to Users and select "Invite Users".
Invite users to your Organization. For detailed instructions, refer to the My Chaos Guide page.
To enable Floating license sharing, open the three-dot menu next to the option and click "Enable Floating license sharing".

Once Floating license sharing is enabled, any user within the Organization can use a shared floating license. Fixed (or Solo) licenses are not affected by this setting and must be assigned individually.

Legacy Subscription and PRO licensing methods

The Chaos License system is compatible with Anima 6 and later versions. Earlier versions, such as Anima 5.6 and below, will continue to operate with their existing Subscription and PRO licensing methods.
