I am getting extremely slow parsing with iToo RailClone!

This article applies to cases where:

  • The pre-rendering parsing stage is taking an unexpectedly long time (minutes) in a relatively simple scene with iToo RailClone objects.
  • If the RailClone objects are hidden or converted to regular meshes, the scene starts parsing with the expected speed.

Solution:

Open the RailClone Lister (available in the RailClone toolbar) and change the proxy cache display method from "No proxy" to "Embedded" or "External":

You can also change the proxy cache display method in the settings of each of the RailClone objects without using the toolbar (under the "Display / Build" rollout).

Note: while changing the proxy cache display method speeds up parsing time, it also significantly increases scene file size. For more information, see: Display Settings at iToo documentation
