How to request a new feature in Chaos products

Overview

You can use our Chaos Forum to suggest product improvements, new features, or workflow changes that would make the product more useful. It makes it easier for you to submit feature requests, adds transparency on both what feature requests are out there and on their status, and makes it far easier to vote on what you most want to see.

Where to submit your feature request

In the Chaos Forum, you will find a Requests section under each product heading. This category focuses on new feature ideas, improvements to existing functionality, workflow needs or pain points, and suggestions that could help more users. 

Please note that the Requests category is only for future product improvements. If you are encountering bugs, broken behavior, or need help with using the product, please use the Issues categories.
 

How to submit your idea 

Step 1: Go to one of our Chaos Forum and find the Requests category for which you would like to propose a new idea:

Step 2: Search for similar requests first. If a similar idea already exists, vote for it and add your perspective to the existing discussion instead of creating a duplicate.

Step 3: If your request does not already exist, click the New Topic button at the top of the category page. 

Step 4: Fill out the form and include the following: 

• The problem or need
• Your workflow or use case
• The outcome you want to achieve
• Examples, screenshots, or additional context, where helpful

Step 5: Click on Create Topic to submit.

Vote for the existing idea and comment

Ideas are visible to everyone; you can cast one vote per idea and vote on as many ideas as you like.

By navigating to the Requests section for your chosen product , you can view a list of all previously submitted ideas. You can then vote for the ideas you find useful or compelling to help prioritize their consideration and development.

To vote for an existing request: 

1. Open the topic describing the idea.
2. Click the Vote button at the top of the topic.
3. Your vote will be added to the total and will help indicate which ideas are most important to the community.
4. You can remove your vote later by clicking the button again.

Please note that the previous Aha! Ideas portals have been discontinued. Existing requests submitted through those portals will be transferred to the relevant Forum categories shortly, so they can continue to be reviewed, discussed, and supported by the community.
