In cases where distributed rendering is only working fine when using computer A as the master machine and computer B as the render node, but not the other way around, please follow the below steps:
Proceed with the usual Distributed Rendering troubleshooting steps:
- See "Distributed Rendering Troubleshooting" section in this article: How to use Distributed Rendering in Corona for 3ds Max?
- Browse through our Distributed Rendering Troubleshooting Resources
If the usual steps do not seem to help, please try the below solution shared with us by one of our users who experienced this issue. Please note that it includes reinstalling software, so in most cases it makes sense to follow it only as the last resort:
- Format your PC or reset it to factory defaults. The point is to have Windows without any of the newest Windows Updates installed, and no additional software such as 3ds Max.
- Without installing any Windows Updates or other software, install 3ds Max, Corona, Autodesk Backburner, and make sure you meet all requirements for using Corona Distributed Rendering.
- At this stage, test if Distributed Rendering is working correctly for you with computer A as master and B as render node and the other way around.
- If Distributed Rendering is working fine both ways, install Windows Updates one by one and test Distributed Rendering again after each successful update.
