Can I use V-Ray GPU on macOS?

As of V-Ray 7, the Metal RT Engine is supported for macOS.

For previous versions, V-Ray GPU is only supported on currently shipping MacOS versions when running the CUDA x86 engine.

It is still possible to use V-Ray GPU with CUDA render engine on MacOS utilizing C++/CPU devices. This might be very helpful for the following workflows:

  1. Executing Distributed Rendering between MacOS and Windows/Linux machines
    It's possible to initiate Distributed Rendering jobs from MacOS systems with V-Ray GPU with CUDA render engine utilizing MacOS C++/CPU devices and join machines with other operating systems (such as Linux or Windows) where the GPUs that V-Ray GPU supports can be found.
     
  2. Rendering V-Ray GPU ready projects. 
    When working with scenes originally authored for using V-Ray GPU, if it’s necessary to render this project with the same results without having to make any adjustments.
