The installed version of FumeFX is not fully supported. The minimum required version of FumeFX is 6.0. As a workaround you can export FumeFX objects to VDB files and then render those using Corona CVolumeGrid.
This message means that currently there is an unsupported version of FumeFX installed. In such case Corona will use native 3ds Max atmospheric effects to render FumeFX, which may result in incorrect, lower-quality rendering.
Solution: Install FumeFX 6 or newer.
Further notes regarding FumeFX and Corona compatibility:
In case of using older versions of FumeFX and Corona, you can also use VDB export from FumeFX to export your simulation, and then import the VDB sequence into Corona using the Corona Volume Grid:
-
Set up your simulation
-
Open the FumeFX menu
-
Set up the path to a folder where the resulting VDB files will be stored:
-
Start the simulation and wait for the VDB files to be exported
-
Remove FumeFX from the scene, or hide it
-
Create a Corona Volume Grid
-
Click "load from file"
-
Browse to and select all of the exported VDB files
-
Render
These instructions are for creating the FumeFX simulation in the same scene where it will be used. Since the simulation is saved to VDB files, you can also export the simulation from a separate scene, if needed.
