How to Render Corona for Cinema 4D Animations in Vantage

Note: this article covers specifically the rendering of animations in Vantage. For general information on exporting Corona scenes to Vantage, see: How to Export and Render Corona for Cinema 4D Scenes in Vantage

From Corona 13 onwards, you can now render your Cinema 4D animations directly in Chaos Vantage using Live Link. This makes it super easy to preview and render animations with real-time speed and quality. Here’s how to do it step-by-step:

Step 1: Start the Live Link

  1. Open your animated scene in Cinema 4D.

  2. (Optional) Go to the top menu: Corona > Chaos Vantage > Start Vantage Live Link to preview your animation in real time. You can skip this and jump straight to Step 3 if you're ready to render your animation.

Note: This will launch Chaos Vantage and show your Cinema 4D scene live. If the timeline has animation, scrubbing it in C4D will show it in real-time in Vantage.

Step 2: Check the Scene in Vantage

  • Scrub the timeline in Cinema 4D to preview how the animation looks in Vantage.
  • You can adjust the timeline/animation in C4D and see it update live in Vantage.
  • Once everything looks good, go back to Cinema 4D.

Step 3: Render Animation in Vantage

  • In the same menu, go to: Corona > Chaos Vantage > Render animation in Vantage

 Notes

  • You cannot export the scene to Vantage for standalone rendering. Vantage just reads the animation live from C4D. So, any changes you make inside Vantage (like moving objects or changing lights) will not show up in the final render. You must make all changes in C4D.
  • You need Chaos Vantage installed. You can download latest version of Vantage from here: Download Vantage
  • Make sure your GPU meets Vantage requirements.
  • You can monitor the render progress in Vantage directly.
